I am now in ornament mode - I think

I finished up this little freebie from Paulette at Plum Street Samplers. If you have not downloaded him, hurry on over to her blog! Yours will not look quite like mine because you can probably read a chart without confusing the color symbols and making the letters different sizes. Ahem. I cannot tell his beak from his wattle; I stitched it both ways, and I am still not sure I got it right.

I altered "Visions of Sugar Plums" by Country Cottage Needleworks to reflect my own little girls. It turned out to be quite the PINK confection! This pattern is in the 2009 JCS ornament edition.
The girls had their fall piano recital last week. Here is a picture of the girls and Jerry.

Speaking of Jerry, I smell pipe smoke coming up from his office in the basement. That is not going to work. I don't want my big $$$$$ cross stitch linen smelling like smoke!!!! EEEKKKKK!!!!!

Sugar, Stitching, and Snoozing

Sunday our church ladies group had a baby shower for MommyLawyer. Here is a picture of the beautiful cake! There was so much yummy food! We played the "dirty diaper" game. I melted candy bars in diapers, and everyone had to guess!

I started Tanya's "Pride and Prejudice." I thought I would just change the colors to ones that I had on hand. Somehow I have messed the borders up, and they aren't meeting up. I have laid it aside for a few days. Maybe after stitching a few Christmas ornaments I will be able to figure out my mistake.
This is my progress on "Agnes Scott." I am fascinated by the color combination!

And who doesn't love a good nap?

Around the House

I got a new kitchen table yesterday. I paid 250$ and I got it at W-Mart. See - I'm not proud. But I am very proud of my new beautiful table! We had a table there for years, but then it became the dining room table. So for the past couple of years we have eaten every meal at the dining room table. That is just too far for me to haul drinks and catsup three times a day! And the kids were getting too rambunctious around my china cabinet. Now if this corner will just stay perfect, I can tackle the rest of the house with a light heart - like maybe that counter with all the cat food!
Something has eaten my winter garden already. Here are a few things I salvaged. Autumn color!
This is my goddaughter, Tricky Woo, running me through with her blade.

And here is my husband. I won't bother explaining! ;)

Pride and Prejudice & Kitty Love

Here is my start on Tanya's "Pride and Prejudice." Hmmm...cannot really explain why I started this instead of one of the Christmas pieces.... Oh, and I am experimenting with colors changes - stay tuned!

Since Tanya sent some Maddie Cat Love, I will send some back from Dorothy and Ozma. If they had been male, we would have had to name them Tigger and Pooh! My little creamsicle babies!

The last photo yesterday was by Patricia Andrle. (love her!)

Christmas Stash - Oh Possibilities

Sometimes I don't think even I know what I have. I just pulled out some Christmas patterns to try and pick out ONE to complete this year. Of course I will be stitching smaller designs and ornaments, but I would like one sampler/heirloom - type. Oh, the possibilities seem endless!

Do not think this represents my entire Christmas Stash - Oh, No, NO! These are just the patterns I have NARROWED it down to for this year. I know these are all guaranteed to provide maximum stitching pleasure, but I think I may need your help with the final cut! Any suggestions?
And I really want Poinsetta House as well....

"Mercy Me" and Stash!

I just finished up "Mercy Me" by Notforgotten Farms. It was very difficult to stitch with two roly-poly yellow kittens batting at my thread!
I got quite a few new patterns in the past couple of weeks. I got an assortment of samplers on Ebay, a couple patterns from The Sampler Girl sale, and I won a free chart from Heartstrings Primitives!
